Watch strap sizing guide
A watch strap fits on three numbers: the lug width, the taper and the length.
Here's how to find each one. Every size below is a real option on our watch straps.
1. Lug width: how the strap meets the watch
Lug width is the gap between your watch's lugs, where the strap sits, in millimeters.
- Measure between the inside faces of the lugs with a ruler or a caliper. It's almost always an even number.
- Or search for your watch below. It'll tell you which width to order, or that nothing we make fits.
We make every lug width from 12mm to 24mm: 12mm, 13mm, 14mm, 15mm, 16mm, 17mm, 18mm, 19mm, 20mm, 21mm, 22mm, 23mm and 24mm. The 12mm and 13mm cuts taper to a 10mm buckle. Most watches take 18, 20 or 22mm, and our default is 20mm at the lugs. Match your lugs exactly: a strap even a millimeter off won't seat properly.
2. Taper: the second number
Most widths are written as a pair, like 20/16mm: 20mm at the lugs, narrowing to 16mm at the buckle. A single number, like 20mm, is a straight strap, the same width end to end.
- Tapered (20/16mm, 22/18mm): traditional and dressy. Suits most watches.
- Straight (20mm, 22mm): bolder. Common on tool and field watches.
A is the lug width, B the width at the buckle. A 20/16mm strap is 20mm at A and 16mm at B.

Pick the look you prefer. Both fit the same lugs.
3. Length: fitting your wrist
Straps come in three lengths. Each is written as its two halves in millimeters: the longer 12 o'clock side over the shorter buckle side. Anything in between, in 5mm steps, is a custom length: choose Custom length in the Length menu on any strap and set each side yourself.
A is the 12 o'clock half, B the buckle half, so Regular is 115/75mm.
Wrap a soft tape around your wrist where you wear your watch, then put the number in below, or find it in the table. No tape? A strip of paper and a ruler works too.

Between two sizes? A custom length sets each side yourself, in 5mm steps.
Pick the length whose range your wrist sits in the middle of. Between two, size up.

A little extra tail is easy to live with. A strap that's too short isn't. Regular fits most wrists, and a custom length can sit between any two.
Fine-tune the fit with hole spacing: six holes at 5mm, 6mm or 7mm apart (7mm is standard). Every strap has quick-release spring bars, so it swaps on and off without tools.
Your old strap may be less forgiving. Plain spring bars have no lever, so you'll need a spring bar tool to compress one end. Bergeon's 6767-F is the one most watchmakers reach for: its tip is fine enough to sit under the bar without scratching the lug. A knife or a paperclip is how most lugs get scratched.
4. Which strap for your watch
- Standard-lug watches (Omega, Rolex, Seiko, Tudor, most dress and dive watches). Measure the lug width and pick that size from the watch straps collection. Tapered widths like 20/16mm and 22/18mm suit these best.
- Apple Watch. It has no lugs, so we fit an adapter into both ends of the strap. At the top of the width list, pick the Apple Watch entry for your case: Small (38, 40 and 41mm, and the 42mm Series 10 and 11), Large (44, 45 and 46mm, and the 42mm Series 1 to 3) or Ultra (49mm). The adapter is priced with the width, makes the strap a custom order, and matches your buckle: stainless, black, gold or rose gold on Small and Large, stainless or black on Ultra. - Other proprietary fittings. Cases that take a fitted connector instead of a standard spring-bar lug. Our straps are cut for standard lugs, so we're sorry to say they won't fit.
