Three cuts at 16mm

16mm is the smallest width we cut straight, so it's the only small size with a real choice: 16mm all the way to the buckle, or tapered to 14 or 12mm. The straight cut is also where the matte stainless and Pre-V frames start, since both are stocked from 16mm up.

Fitting 16mm

16mm covers small dress watches and a great many vintage cases, and it's the width owners most often guess wrong: a 34 or 36mm case can take anything from 14 to 18mm depending on how the lugs are drawn. Measure the gap between them, not the case. After that it's proportion: a straight 16mm reads modern, 16/14mm is the traditional shape, and 16/12mm tapers hardest.

If the gap reads a millimeter either way, our 15mm and 17mm straps are cut just as exactly.

Every leather we make is cut to any width: shell cordovan, the Classic and Vintage series, lined or unlined.
