A trapezoid frame with cut corners, named for the pre-Vendome Panerai hardware it follows. The widest of the three shapes we fit, and like the field buckle its tang needs a strap punched with oblong holes rather than round ones.
Pre-V is the trapezoid with cut corners that Panerai fitted before Vendome, and this is our version of it. At 1.23 inches across it's the widest frame we make, and it wants a strap with some thickness behind it: on a thin band it looks borrowed from a bigger watch. It comes in 16, 18, 20 and 22mm at the buckle end, and the smallest of those is the one to think twice about: the frame flares the same 11mm past the strap whatever width it closes on, so on a 16mm band it is a deliberate look rather than a quiet one. At 0.17 inches deep it is the shallowest of the three frames as well as the widest.
Polished stainless matches a steel case and lets the shape do the talking. Black PVD is how you fit a buckle this size without it becoming the loudest thing on your wrist. Like the field buckle, the tang is cut for an oblong hole, so check the punch on any strap you already own before ordering.
